Classic Blooper from The Irish Independent

I am pasting in an article from the Indo’s Breaking News service (for those who don’t have an account to view the real thing here … and in case they correct it before you get to read it). It seems Astronomy Ireland have been usurped by their nemesis.

ISS Space station to be visible from Ireland this evening

10:36 Sunday December 24th 2006

Irish people will have a rare chance to see the largest man made object in space pass in front of the Moon this evening.

The International Space Station (ISS) should blaze across our skies at different times each evening until the third of January.

Astrology Ireland estimates that it will happen at 5.12 this evening.

Spokesperson David Moore said people in specific parts of the country will be able to see it best.

“It’s going to run from Kenmare in Co. Kerry right the way across the country to Dalkey in South Dublin.”

“Anyone near that thin line will get to see ISS pass very close to the moon,” he said.
