As my New Year resolution (because I couldn’t be arsed taking on anything more demanding) I’m extending this beyond the walls of Castle Sneeze to all the other blogs I read. The main reason is because I want to. The other reason is to draw attention elsewhere - what’s the point of highlighting a comment made on this blog if you’ve already read it? The other other reason is the make myself do it - I’d completely forgotten about it.
And I hereby resolve (that’s the resolution part) to update it every week. On whatever day I feel like it.
Signed - Me (January 2, 2008 )
I intended doing this a long time ago, but like a lot of things, I never got around to it. The idea was inspired by the classic comment by Seanachie back in May and when I read what Fat Mammy Cat wrote I just had to go do it.

| 2008/05/11 | MacDara | We are about to see a new country | Not so much a comment on a blog, but a comment within a blog: "When I got to the bedroom Eadaoin said to me my god this is even worse than the War (July 2006) so I informed her some of it was thunder [not just shelling]. Its not raining, is it? she asked. Yes its just started. Ah Jesus she said go out and take in the clothes before they get wet." |
| 2008/04/23 | Rosie - The Spanish Exposition | Childhood Trauma #73 | These days my dealings with the church are limited to funerals and the occasional wedding, Felix. Both the Pope and I prefer it that way (and by Pope I do of course mean JP2, as the new guy looks like something that'd eat you). |
| 2008/03/11 | Conortje | Where there’s smoke there are many fires | That’s actually a really very interesting point - especially about speeding. |

| 2008/02/09 | His Girl Friday | Bock's Super Tuesday | On Obama: ... and it seemed a bit spooky he pledged his oath of office on a Koran not a Bible. (yes, I know, freedom of religion) |
| 2008/01/19 | Potty Mummy | Reluctant Memsahib's Behavioural habits of men and mosquitoes | The female mossy traveller thing? They can probably tell how far she’s travelled due to the trail of creatures from who she’s stopped to ask directions. As opposed to the male mossy not actually asking so just going round and round in circles because they are too embarrassed to… |
| 2008/01/07 | John Mc | Winter Birthday | ... although it will be hard for our kids to rebel, they would have to become hardcore evangelicals ... |
| 2008/01/05 | Grandad to TT. | Grandad is a Looney Left and proud of it | After TT provokes SandH who is fervently against gun control in the US. Grandad: TT - Careful… He’s armed! |
| 2007/12/30 | Eolaí back to Grainne. | A song for Tara | Grainne: I’m sorry, but didjeridoo? Awful song. Eolaí: Didjeridon’t then Grainne? |
| 2007/11/15 | Sam, Problemchildbride | Spare Ribs Anyone? | But turning up naked with pizza is more of a second date thing. |
| 2007/10/05 | Sam, Problemchildbride | Christy Ring and Jack Lynch | For a short time, in my single digits, I had a crush on Cliff Thorburn. And Cliff Richard as it happens. It must have been the rugged manliness of their names. |
| 2007/09/18 | Fatmammycat | A Bird in the Bush is worth Two in the Hand | Of course my mother went bat shit crazy and said he could have killed them and could have been arrested for attempted murder, but I have to say I was never prouder of him and to this day it was one of my more misty-eyed stories of my father. |
| 2007/05/26 | The Pleasures of Underachievement | Language Barriers | But then the Irish are very fond when abroad of claiming that they speak the ancestral tongue when they think there is nobody around to test them. When that fails, they can always fall back on ‘The Fields of Athenry’, that staple of traditional Irish culture, dating all the way back to 1978. |
